The Department of Meteorology says that there will be rain from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It is said that heavy rains of about 50 mm will occur in some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Puttalam, Galle and Matara districts.

Mannaram, Vavuniya and Anuradhapura districts may experience some rain.

It has been mentioned in the announcement that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and Batticaloa and Ampara districts in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills and in the Northe , North-Central and North-Weste Provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota Districts, the winds are blowing at times per 40-45kmh.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
