The Ministry of Digital Economy Affairs says that tenders have been invited from Indian companies to prepare the new digital identity card.
Deputy Minister Eranga Weeraratne stated that a period of 4 months will be given for the purpose.
It is reported that India will provide a grant of Rs. 10.4 billion to the country for the project.
The deputy minister stated that the new digital identity card will be issued by the middle of next year.
