Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on January 7, the Indian Ministry of Defense says.

He is reported to be visiting the country for a two-day visit.

He is scheduled to meet the Sri Lankan Army Commander, Deputy Defense Minister, Defense Secretary, and a number of senior military and civilian leaders.

He is also scheduled to hold extensive discussions on issues of mutual interest, including training cooperation and regional security.
