Japan to provide US$2.5 million to Sri Lanka



The Japanese gove ment has decided to provide a US$2.5 million grant to Sri Lanka.

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi stated that the grant will be made to help the country recover from the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditva.

This aid is to be used for programs implemented in the country through inte ational relief agencies.

Speaking to the media, Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi stated that Japan's aim is to provide full support to Sri Lanka, a long-standing ally, for a speedy recovery.
