Sri Lanka's GDP per capita in 2022 was recorded at US$ 3,474.
In 2021, this value was reported as $3,997.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka's GDP per capita has decreased by $523 in 2022.
However, according to the rupee value, the per capita gross domestic product has grown to 1,088,667 rupees in 2022 compared to 794,376 rupees in 2021, according to a recent report.
The rise in per capita GDP in rupee terms was influenced by the growth seen in GDP at current prices, while the decline in per capita GDP calculated in US dollar terms was due to the significant depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar.
This is mentioned in the 2022 annual report of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
