A state of emergency has been declared for Bangkok, Thailand.

This is due to a strong earthquake that hit Myanmar.

Foreign media reported that an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck the Mandalay region of Myanmar this afternoon(28).

The earthquake damaged several buildings in Myanmar as well as the Thai capital, Bangkok.

Meanwhile, it is reported that steps have been taken to evacuate passengers and staff at Mandalay Airport.
