US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have agreed to resume high-level military communications, according to officials and media reports.
Relations soured earlier this year when the US accused China of sending a spy balloon over its airspace, but have since improved, according to foreign media reports.
World leaders are expected to discuss the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, inte ational trade, fentanyl trafficking and Taiwan.
Following the meetings, Chinese President Xi Jinping will also join US business leaders for dinner.
Foreign media say that the dinner is hosted by the US China Business Council and the National Committee on US-China Relations.
