A suspect was arrested at the Katunayake Airport this mo ing (26) with 200 cigarette cartons containing 40,000 foreign-made cigarettes worth Rs. 6.5 million and 32 electronic cigarettes, which were illegally brought into the country.

This was done by a group of Katunayake Airport Police officers.

The suspect who was arrested is a 22-year-old businessman residing in Galle.

The police stated that the suspect and all the cigarettes he brought into the country were produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today (26) for further investigation.
