State Minister of Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe stated in Parliament that the state banks have been instructed to follow a flexible policy regarding customers who have taken commercial loans.
He mentioned that the gove ment has allocated 168 million rupees for the development of the small and medium enterprise sector and has given special attention to providing single digit loans to entrepreneurs.
At the same time, he also mentioned that special welfare programs will be implemented targeting 62 lakh families from the entire population of the country.
The minister said this while answering the questions asked by the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa in Parliament.
