The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Matara District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 69% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 317,541 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 74,475 votes (16.38%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 6 seats in Matara District, with the SJB winning 1 seat.

• New Democratic Front (NDF): 31,009 votes
• Sarvajana Balaya (SRJB): 11,776 votes
