The Japanese government has provided financial assistance of US $1.33 million to Sri Lanka.

This is for the upliftment of inland fishermen affected by Cyclone Ditva.

It is reported that the relevant official agreement has been signed by Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekaran and Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata.
