Police say that legal action has been taken against more than 4,000 drivers who committed traffic violations based on footage captured by CCTV cameras installed by the police around Colombo city.

Police stated that fines or legal action have been taken against 4,048 drivers who violated traffic laws up to April 20th of this year.

Police Media Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhika Manatunga, further stated that this program is planned to be implemented continuously.
