The election to select the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy will be held on or around November 7th, says Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs Gamini Senaratne.

The term of office of the current Diyawadana Nilame ended on September 7th this year.

Accordingly, it is reported that arrangements have been made to hold the election to elect a new Diyawadana Nilame on or around November 7th this year.
