MP Sugath Wasantha de Silva has been elected as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Forum for Persons with Disabilities.

This was when the forum met in Parliament recently under the patronage of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

The name for the forum was proposed by MP Chandima Hettiarachchi.

Subsequently, the Chief Organizer of the Opposition, Gayantha Karunathilaka, confirmed the proposal.
