S. Achchuthan officially commenced duties as the Director General of the Sports Development Department yesterday (02).

It is reported that he has received his appointment letter from the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage.

After receiving the appointment letter, his first official meeting with the officials of the Sports Development Department was held at the Duncan White Hall on the ministry premises.

It is reported that he informed the officials about the future development activities in the sports sector in the country.
