The European Union has fined Apple and Facebook parent company Meta.

Foreign media reported that Apple was fined $570 million and Meta was fined $228 million.

The companies were fined for allegedly violating the Digital Markets Act.

Foreign media further stated that the fine was imposed after an investigation that lasted about a year.
