The cousin of MP Mohamed Faisal, who was arrested in connection with a car accident, has been remanded until the 17th.

This was after the suspect was produced before the Marawila Acting Magistrate.

The accident occurred when the motorcyclist, Mohamed Faisal, the Puttalam District MP of the National People's Power, veered off the road and collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The person riding the motorcycle has reportedly died in the accident.
