The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption says that it has so far received complaints from about 100 people who were aggrieved by the surgery performed by specialist neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi Wijeratne.

The Bribery Commission stated that if anyone has any information in this regard, they can contact the hotline number 1954 or the email address ciaboc_gen@ciaboc.gov.lk.

Investigations have been launched on several other charges, including causing losses to patients by obtaining surgical equipment required for neurosurgeons from exte al institutions while performing neurosurgery at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital.
