Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody was indicted on corruption charges before the Colombo High Court today (27).
It is reported that the case has been taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela.
The accused has appeared before the court pursuant to a summons issued earlier.
It is reported that following the indictment, the accused has been ordered to be released on two surety bonds of Rs. 1 million each.
The court has also ordered that his fingerprints be taken and a report be submitted.
It is reported that the case has also been called up again on May 6 for a pre-trial conference.
