A fatal accident occurred last night (02) when a car collided with two pedestrians.

It happened in the Kanagarayankulam area on the A9 road.

It is reported that the two pedestrians who were seriously injured in the accident have died after being admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital.

The two deceased persons, aged 27 and 40, are residents of Kanagarayankulam and Oddusudan areas.

Police stated that the driver of the vehicle has been arrested in connection with the accident.
