Death toll from Japan earthquake rises to 161



Authorities say that the death toll from the earthquake in Japan has risen to 161.

Foreign media say that efforts are still being made to find more than 100 people who are missing even after a week.

But the bad weather has hindered and wa ings have been given about the collapse of buildings due to the continued heavy rain and landslides.

The earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 hit the Noto Peninsula and most of the deaths occurred in the heavily affected cities of Wajima and Suzu, reports said.
