The Welfare Benefits Board says that the elderly allowance worth nearly Rs. 3.4 billion for the month of March under the Aswasuma Welfare Scheme will be transferred to banks today (26).

The board stated that the amount will be credited to 622,462 adults over 70 years of age in the first phase and 71,339 adults in the second phase.

The board further stated that the relevant beneficiaries will be able to receive their allowance through Aswasuma beneficiary accounts from today (26).
