The Government Medical Officers Association says it will commence an island-wide trade union action tomorrow (31) to protest the arbitrary transfer system.

They stated that if this transfer system is implemented today (30), the authorities should accept responsibility for the disruption of services that may occur in hospitals and health institutions across the island.

Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, Secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association, stated this at a media conference held yesterday (29) regarding the said trade union action.
