The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It said that some areas in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts can expect heavy rains of about 100 mm.

In Uva and Easte Provinces, rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
