The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island after 1 pm.

The announcement also states that some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces may experience heavy rain of about 75 mm.

The announcement further states that there may be rain in the mo ing in the weste , southe and easte provinces.

Foggy conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.

Meanwhile, the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
