The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be heavy rain about 100 mm in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

It also stated that some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts may experience heavy rain of about 100 mm.
 
There are several rainy seasons in the North-West Province.

In Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts there will be scattered rain or thundershowers during the evening or night.
 
In North and North-Central Provinces and in Hambantota, Puttalam and Trincomalee Districts, Strong winds of around 40-45kmh are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
