The US Embassy in Sri Lanka says that Julie Chung, who is serving as the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, is set to leave Sri Lanka.

That will be on January 16.

The US Embassy in Sri Lanka said that she is leaving Sri Lanka, ending a distinguished career of nearly 07 years as the highest-ranking diplomat representing the United States.

During her tenure, she is said to have paid special attention to developing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the United States, democracy, economic stability, and human rights issues.
