The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be occasional rains in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Puttalam, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Some places in Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm.
 
It also states that there may be several rainy seasons in Hambantota and Kurunegala districts.

In Uva province, Batticaloa and Ampara districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.
 
In the weste slopes of the Central Hills and in the Northe , North-Central and North-Weste Provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota Districts, the winds are blowing at times per 40-45kmh.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
