President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that a special committee will be appointed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Inspector General of Police to secure lands in the Easte Province.

This was while participating in the coordination committee meeting held at the Ampara District Secretariat.

At the meeting, the president said that many problems have arisen in the Easte Province due to the use of political power to seize lands.
