Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and economist, has taken the oath as head of Bangladesh’s interim gove ment following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The new caretaker gove ment, consisting of civil society leaders, academics, and activists, aims to restore peace and prepare for upcoming elections.
The transition follows weeks of nationwide protests that escalated into a major crisis, leading to the deaths of over 300 people and forcing Hasina to flee to India.
