The Namal Uyana was declared a 'national heritage of Sri Lanka' yesterday under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
This was done at the Presidential Secretariat.
This was done with the aim of identifying, preserving, and bequeathing the country's national heritage to future generations under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs.
The Presidential Media Division stated that this was done in conjunction with the celebration of 35 years since the introduction of the Namal Uyana.
