Aminda Lakmal, a senior lecturer at Jayawardenepura University, revealed during a special panel discussion on Election Times by Colombo Times that a new Digital Ministry is in the works.

This initiative is part of the new gove ment’s policy to accelerate the country’s digitization process following the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Lakmal highlighted that the ministry aims to streamline efforts in mode izing infrastructure and fostering digital innovation across all sectors.
