Former US President Barack Obama's personal chef has died.

It is said that his body was found in a lake near Obama's family home.

Massachusetts State Police said an examination of the body identified it as Tafari Campbell, the former president's chef.

Authorities have started a search for the missing person following a report that a paddle boarder went underwater and did not resurface.

Massachusetts State Police said he was not wearing a life jacket while playing.

He was 45 at the time of his death and was the father of two children.

He has previously worked in the White House.

But after Barack Obama left the presidency in 2016, he had worked as the Obama family's chef.
