The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

It also stated that some places in Sabaragamuwa provinces and Puttalam, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 50 mm.

Anuradhapura and Mannaram districts may experience some rain.

In Batticaloa and Ampara districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places during evening or night.
 
In the weste slopes of the Central Hills and in the Northe , North-Central and North-Weste Provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota Districts, the winds are blowing at times per 40-45kmh.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
