The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be occasional rains in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

It also states that there may be some rain in Hambantota district as well.
 
In Uva province, Batticaloa and Ampara districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills and in the Northe , North-Central and North-Weste Provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota Districts, the winds are blowing at times per 40-45kmh.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
