The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rains in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South, Central and North-West provinces.

It said that some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may receive heavy rains of about 100 mm.
 
Easte and Uva provinces and Vavunia and Mullativu districts will experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
 
In the weste slopes of the Central Highlands, in the Weste , North-Weste and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, wind gusts from time to time per 40-45kmh.
