A police officer has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in the Walasgala forest area of ​​Dehiattakandiya.

Police stated that the officer, who had fallen on the road after being injured by the wild elephant attack, died after being admitted to the Dehiattakandiya Hospital by a bus traveling on that route.

It is reported that the deceased officer was a police sergeant attached to the Dehiattakandiya Police.
