The striking trade unions have begun a satyagraha in front of the Colombo Central Post Office.

It is reported that representatives of several trade unions, including the Ceylon Teachers' Union and the Workers' Struggle Center, have also expressed support for this satyagraha.

Steps have been taken to provide police security to the Colombo Central Post Office, and several police officers have been deployed at the site.
