Today (31), the Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in the Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya Galle and Matara districts.

Also in Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places during evening or night.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology further stated that the rest of the island is experiencing mainly rainless weather today.

It is said that strong winds of about 40 kilometers per hour may occur in the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe , north-central, southe and northweste provinces and in the Trincomalee district.
