The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be several periods of rain in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

A little rain may occur in the North-West Province.
 
In Uva province, Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

There will be mainly rainless weather in the rest of the island.
 
In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe and north-central provinces, in the Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, winds of 40 km/h are expected from time to time.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
