Today (18th), Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Northe provinces and Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts will experience occasional rain or thundershowers, says the Meteorological Department.

The department also announced that some places may experience light rainfall of more than 50 mm.

It is said that in Easte , Uva, Central and North Central Provinces and in Hambantota District there will be scattered rain or thundershowers in the evening or at night.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
