The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 1.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

It also states that heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places in Uva province.

In the coastal areas of Weste and Southe Provinces and in the Northe Province, there may be rain in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
