A seaplane crashed today (07) as it prepared to land at Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya.

It is reported that the two pilots who were on board the plane were injured when it crashed and have been admitted to the Nuwara Eliya District Hospital.

Police said that the plane was carrying a group of tourists who had arrived in Nuwara Eliya when the accident occurred.

It is also reported that the two pilots on board the plane were rescued by boat people on the reservoir.
