A special police operation is going to be implemented to arrest people who are driving under the influence of illegal substances.

It is planned to start from August 1.

In addition, during a special operation in the Weste Province, 41 drivers were identified who were driving using illegal substances.

It is reported that 19 of them are bus drivers.

The police stated that most of the road accidents in Sri Lanka are caused by driving under the influence of illegal substances.

It is also said that there is a significant increase in the number of road accidents reported in the country.
