Sri Lanka has finished runner-up in the South Asian Senior Athletics Championships that concluded in India.
It is reported that Sri Lanka has won 40 medals, with 16 gold, 14 silver, and 10 bronze.
India, which won 20 gold medals, has taken the lead in the medal tally.
Accordingly, it is reported that they have also won 20 silver medals and 18 bronze medals.
It is also noteworthy that no other country, except Sri Lanka and India, has been able to win a gold medal in the South Asian Athletics Championships.
Nearly 60 athletes have participated in this tou ament, representing Sri Lanka.
In addition to the hosts, India and Sri Lanka, athletes representing Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Bangladesh are competing.
