Professor Sunil Shantha, who served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University, has been removed from that position.

The decision was taken by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The reason for his removal from this position has not yet been officially announced, and it is reported that a new program is to be implemented for future administrative activities.
