2023 CWC | Sri Lanka qualifies for the World Cup



The Sri Lankan players managed to win by 9 wickets in the 2nd match in which Sri Lanka participated in the Super 6 match round of the 2023 ODI World Cup qualification tou ament.

Sri Lanka decided to bowl first in this match against the hosts Zimbabwe.
 
There, the Sri Lankan bowlers managed to restrict the opponent's innings to less than 200 runs for the 8th time in a row.

Accordingly, the Zimbabwean team was able to collect only 165 runs.
 
Sean Williams scored 56 runs, Sikandar Raza scored 31 runs and Ryan Burl scored 16 runs each.
 
Accordingly, the Sri Lankan team, chasing a target of 166 runs, crossed the winning line by losing 1 wicket.

Pathum Nissanka scored 101 not out, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 30 and Kusal Mendis scored 25 not out.
 
With this victory, the Sri Lankan team will be able to officially qualify for the 2023 One Day World Cup.
