SL Vs ZIM | Sri Lanka won the first T20 match

Sri Lanka won the first 20-20 cricket match against the visiting Zimbabwe team by 3 wickets.

Chasing a target of 144 runs, the Sri Lankan team passed the winning target by losing only 7 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.

Sri Lanka won the toss at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and decided to bowl first.

Accordingly, the first 2 wickets of the Zimbabwe team that entered the field fell on 38 runs.

Maheesh Theekshana took both the wickets.

After that, captain Sikandar Raza and Shaun Williams, who joined the field, built a 45-run partnership for the third wicket.

Shaun Williams scored 14 runs and skipper Sikandar Raza scored his 13th half-century in T20I.

However, he was able to collect only 62 points.

Accordingly, the Zimbabwean team scored 143 runs by losing 5 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.

Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka's reply was opened by Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis.

Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for 2 runs.

Kusal Janith Perera was out for 17 runs and Kusal Mendis was out for 17 runs.

The first 6 wickets of the Sri Lankan team were lost for 83 runs.
