Thousands attended the funeral of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran after he was killed in a strike in Tehran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the prayers.

Following the attack, Iranian officials have indicated plans for retaliation against Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged recent strikes against enemies, including a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon. He wa ed of potential escalations.

The UN has expressed conce over the increasing hostilities. Haniyeh's death, occurring shortly after Iran's new president's inauguration, has deeply impacted Hamas.
