The National Dengue Control Unit says that steps will be taken to release mosquitoes infected with the Wolbachia virus for mosquito control in several areas of Colombo where dengue cases are high.

Accordingly, its director Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that the program will be implemented at the research level.

He also mentioned that the number of dengue cases reported daily has increased to 300.
